Ansys optiSLang Base – Replacing DesignXplorer in 2025 R2

With Ansys 2025 R2, the familiar DesignXplorer (DX) environment evolves into Ansys optiSLang Base, now fully integrated and included in the Flagship Mechanical, CFD, and Maxwell licenses. This new workflow brings the power of optiSLang’s sensitivity, metamodel, and optimisation capabilities directly into Ansys Workbench without the need for a separate optiSLang license.

In this session, we’ll introduce optiSLang Base, explore its new wizards, response surfaces, and evolutionary optimisation features, and demonstrate how easily engineers can apply them within Mechanical. A live example will showcase a sustainable aluminium heat sink optimisation, where mass is minimised while temperature and stress constraints are satisfied under natural convection. This short webinar highlights how optiSLang Base enables every Ansys user to design smarter, lighter, and more sustainable products right out of the box.
