Ansys HFSS™ Training (Hybrid) 16-17 October 2024

16 October @ 8:30 am - 17 October @ 4:30 pm

Unlock the full potential of high-frequency electromagnetic simulation software with our expert-led Ansys HFSS™ training, conducted by Evan Smuts from Qfinsoft. Whether you prefer an immersive in-person experience or the convenience of online learning, this course will equip you with the skills to master Ansys HFSS™ and apply it to real-world projects. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your expertise and solve complex challenges. Sign up today and take the next step in your professional growth!

Course Overview

This first course introduces the Ansys Electronic Desktop (AEDT) and familiarises new HFSS users with the graphical user interface (GUI) and all the steps in the HFSS workflow: geometry construction, boundaries and simulation space, wave and lumped ports, solution setup, frequency sweep, and post-processing. The course is hands-on, with time split evenly between simulation workshops and learning content with question and answer. Topics include an overview of high-performance computing, parameterised sweeps, and optimization in the HFSS Optimetrics package. The focus of the course is RF and microwave, including filter, microstrip and waveguide structures. Post processing focuses on S-parameter plots and field overlays on geometry.

Learning Outcomes

Following the completion of this course, you will be able to:

– Familiarise with the Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) graphical user interface (GUI).

– Familiarise with the overall workflow for setting up an HFSS project, simulating, and viewing results.

– Familiarise with the HFSS finite element method (FEM) and automatic adaptive meshing process.

– Differentiate between lumped ports and wave ports.

– Differentiate between simulation space and the boundaries around simulation space.

– Construct simple geometry models in the AEDT 3D Modeler.

– Set up, simulate, and plot a basic parameter sweep.
